Day 2
Day 3 at the University of Utah infusion center in Daybreak because Huntsman was already scheduled full that day. It was still good, but we like the views better at Huntsman :)
Day 4
Judd getting hooked up to the IV. They flush his port with saline and it leaves a taste in his mouth he describes as plastic. This taste and the smell of alcohol wipes from cleaning the area gross him out pretty bad now.
Judd rarely takes the warm blankets the nurses offer, but always lets them know I'd love one. It almost always puts me right to sleep. This day my nap didn't coincide with Judd's and he busted me.
Talking a walk around the neighborhood trying to loosen up his legs after Day 4 of treatment.
We go on these walks often now. Pre- cancer and pregnancy days we used to like going on runs together around the neighborhood. Judd is really looking forward to being able to start running again, but for now it's nice to be able to get outside together even just for a few minutes.
This was Day 4 of round 1. Judd decided he'd rather just start with his head shaved instead of watching chunks of hair fall out as treatment went on. We decided to make a party of it. My brother who shaves his head regularly came over to do the honors.
We had to see if a mohawk was a styling option when his hair starts growing back. haha.
And the finished product! I must say he really rocks the shaved head look!
Day 5
His IV pole. Not really an exciting picture, but I've had a lot of deep conversations with myself while staring at his IV poles. This medicine makes Judd so sick, but we keep chugging through because it is key in getting him healthy. Oddly enough it makes me think of this trial as a whole -- this trial has brought us to our lowest lows, but because of it we are going to come out of it stronger and more resilient than we were before.
At home after a long week of treatment using his new fleece pillow case that is more comfortable for newly bald heads. Only 2 more treatment days and Round 1 is finished!
