Judd still continues to give himself shots twice a day in the stomach because he had that blood clot in his lung. These shots get rid of the blood clot and prevent another one from occurring. He'll be getting two shots a day until December and then re-evaluated.

June 20th ended up in the E.R. for some major back pain similar to what he had when he had the blood clot. When we got there one of the nurses said "ya know it kind of sounds like a kidney stone". That scared him pretty good and he goes "oh please, anything but that!" haha. Thankfully it was not a blood clot or a kidney stone. It was some intense muscle spasms in his back. Better safe than sorry!

Judd's first post-chemo follow up appointment on July 7, 2016. Tumor markers looked great and his CT scans also looked great! He doesn't have to do surgery or more chemo!!! We made it through!!! These have been the most challenging months of our lives also the greatest as we have never felt so loved by so many people and the love of our Savior so strongly.

Judd got his port removed on July 11, 2016. He was so relieved to get it out and couldn't wait to be able to lay comfortably on his side. It was wonderful during chemo to have, but so glad to be done!
Judd will continue to be monitored by the doctors at Huntsman for the next 5 years. The first year he will go in for blood work every 2 months with x-rays and CT scans every six months. Each year it will taper down, but this way the doctors can keep an eye on him and intervene if needed. Judd's doctor said she would be very surprised if the cancer did come back and doesn't anticipate that it will. :)
When we talk to people about these last months of our lives they always say "I don't know how you did it." I never know quite what to say because while yes we did in fact do it, we in no way did it alone. We had each other, family, friends, neighbors, angels, and the Savior. During this time we felt such a special spirit in our home, and we felt special spirits in our home. We may never know who those spirits were, but one thing we do know is that we are loved beyond measure by our family on earth, our family in heaven, our Savior, and our Heavenly Father. It is my hope that as we move forward we'll be able to hang on to those feelings of love and let them radiate so that others may feel that same love. We are far from perfect, but if we can share just a small portion of the love we felt with someone else it may make their dark moments a little brighter.
